Oshawa Novice AA does it again!
The Oshawa Novice AA boys competed in the Justin Williams Cup this past weekend with two tournament championships under their belt and an undeniable hunger for a third.

The odds were stacked against them out of the gate after an initial 3-2 loss to the Ajax Knights in a heart-breaker after outplaying them most the game. Our Oshawa Generals bounced right back taking it to the Peterborough Petes 4-1 in their second game that very same day.

Fully aware that the third and final round robin game vs Northumberland Nighthawks would decide their fate for moving on in this tournament, the boys left nothing to chance defeating their opponents 8-0. That outpouring of goals landed them in a three way tie for 2nd place but with the best percentage of those teams, the boys finished the round robin in 2nd place under the undefeated LPC Wild.

Sunday morning's semi-finals commenced and the boys were to do battle against the Peterborough Petes who were looking for revenge. Right from the puck drop Oshawa's boys physically dominated the game. With the Peterborough goalie pulled and an extra attacker on the ice late in the game, Oshawa's defensive game proved to be too much for the Petes and they won 3-1, giving Oshawa a date with destiny in the finals. The final game would be decided in a battle between two tournament champions. The Oshawa Generals vs the LPC Wild.

The boys prepared for battle with a team lunch. Then with the grit, intensity and sheer determination we expect from them, they hit the ice with their eyes on the prize. Our boys started off the scoring, however were quickly met with a goal by LPC wild. After some great back and forth chances we fell into some penalty trouble. Giving up a two man advantage in a championship game is never a good thing but the boys never quit while killing off the penalties. Taking that momentum from killing the penalties off we put pressure on the Wild and netted another goal. After Oshawa's boys worked hard to get back into the lead LPC Wild was given a break with a penalty shot and would not miss. With the game knotted at 2s we ran into more penalty trouble in the third but managed to kill them off and add a couple more goals to the board to make it 4-2. The boys held them there and were successful in winning their third tournament of their season.

Congratulations to all the hardworking boys and coaching staff of the Oshawa Novice AA!!!
