Minor Bantam AA - Minor Bantam AA 2017-2018 Motown Cup Champions!
Submitted By Team Manager on Friday, December 08, 2017
Over the December 1-3 weekend the Oshawa Minor Generals Minor Bantam AA team travelled to Detroit to participate in the Motown Cup. It was a very successful weekend coming home Tournament Champions.

The weekend started out with a tough 2-1 loss to the Irish Rovers 03 AA team from Grand Bend.

The following day the boys played the Toledo Cherokee and came away with a convincing 8-1 win with scoring from multiple players.

That evening the team had a hard fought battle with Fox Motors Red and cam away with a 4-2 loss.

After the tough 4-2 loss the boys got together and had a sit down meeting where they talked about "heart", "passion" and "believing in themselves".  All being part of the team for a reason....and boy oh boy did that meeting work!

The Minor Bantam AA team moved on to fight another day playing in the semi-finals where they played the USA Eagles 03/04 team.  Outstanding goaltending by Anthony Arcangioli and a rejuvenated team allowed the team to walk away with a 4-0 win and a spot in the finals.

The final game was a Canada vs USA affair with the Minor Generals playing the Sabres from Chicago.  This game started out close until the Minor Bantam AA team scored 3 goals in the span of 5 minutes and bring the cup back to Oshawa with a convincing 6-2 win!!

Congratulations to Aidan Gray on being named the tournament MVP and to all the boys for a fantastic weekend of not just hockey but memories!

Oh and a side note to all the parents for their amazing cheering and encouragement the boys and coaches thank you all!

GO GENS GO!!!!!
