Bill Swindells - the passing of a life long Oshawa hockey volunteer

It is with great sadness that the OCHL & Oshawa Minor Hockey announce the death of Bill Swindells.
Bill played such an important role in the growth of minor hockey in Oshawa. For 40 years he volunteered his time to the OCHL playing roles such as Coach, Convenor, Registrar, Treasurer, March Classic Tournament Coordinator, President and Director at Large. Bill had also sat on the board of Oshawa Minor Hockey as a Director and OMHA Centre Contact.
More than that, Bill was a friend and mentor to many in hockey. His dedication to the game and its players was incomparable and will be sadly missed.
To celebrate the life of Bill and his son Kevin, who we lost earlier this year, the OCHL will officially be changing the name of its March Classic tournament to the Swindells Memorial Classic.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill's wife Karen and the rest of the Swindells family.
