The
Oshawa AE Bantam Minor Generals take an 11 game undefeated streak into the Barrie
tournament today! In their last three
games, Oshawa went 2-0-1. Starting
against Bellville, the Gens contained the Bulls in their pen, masterfully finding
the back of their net on four occasions, while fending off an epic stampede by
the Bulls who failed in their earth-quaking come-back attempt. Oshawa prevailed, 4-1!
Next up were the Ajax Knights. The Knights were relentless in their attack on the Generals as they defended on their own ice, but the Generals would not be outdone. The Gens terminated multiple major threats from Ajax and unleashed enough offence to achieve a respectable 4-4 tie. That added another point to Oshawa’s total and took their undefeated streak into double digits!
Oshawa’s last game was against the pesky Whitby Wildcats. Even with Oshawa winning all three close games against Whitby so far this season, the Wildcats who don’t easily concede goals, were still not to be taken for granted. Despite clobbering Whitby with an onslaught of shots, only two would find the back of the net before a long lob from behind the blue line found the back of an empty net with seconds left in the game. It was enough, as Whitby got past Oshawa only once. Final score, 3-1 Oshawa Gens!
Next up, the Oshawa AE Bantam Minor Generals take their 11 game streak of undefeated games into this weekend’s tournament in Barrie. The Gens are in 3rd place, only one point behind 1st & 2nd. They march into Barrie today as “Warriors of the Weekend”.
