Tyke 7 White Claim 2nd Gold Medal in 2nd Tourney in Bradford !!!
Leading into the Bradford Blue and Gold this past weekend, the Tyke 7 White team were steam-rolling through their second half of the season with 6 straight wins. With a building reputation as a strong 3rd period team, the training prior involved vigorous skating and edge work and the team felt strong and ready.

Leading into the Bradford Blue and Gold this past weekend, the Tyke 7 White team were steam-rolling through their second half of the season with 6 straight wins. With a building reputation as a strong 3rd period team, the training prior involved vigorous skating and edge work and the team felt strong and ready.
Their early first game 5-3 victory over North Toronto seemed to set the tone for the rest of the tourney. Despite having 2 vital players out sick for the next two games, the Tyke 7 Whites seemed to pull together and battle extra hard for their missing team mates. With some solid team play and exhilarating displays from their goaltenders, they were able to secure their spot in the gold medal game defeating the next two opponents in dual shutouts; the Grimsby Kings ( 8-0 ) and the Hespeler Shamrocks ( 4-0 ).
North Toronto, having overcome Hespeler in their strenuous semi-final game would come back even more determined to take Oshawa out when it mattered most. However with some newly gained experience earlier this season proudly representing Oshawa in their first tournament, the Tyke 7 Whites remained steady and focused like champions. With some of their best team work of the season they were able to overwhelm North Toronto and claim the Gold in the Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament by a score of 4-2.
Congratulations once again to the Oshawa Minor Generals Tyke 7 Whites not only for locking up their 2nd Gold medal in only 2 tournaments this season, but for all the valuable time these players spent together off the ice throughout this fun-filled, eventful weekend creating memories of a lifetime and allowing so much team bonding to occur ( parents included ). Together Everyone Achieves More !!! Go Gens GO !!!
