Minor Midget lose to Clarington
A hard fought battle till the very end .
A back and forth game all night with chances at both ends and some excellent goal tending by Johnston. It was a game of special teams with all goals by both teams in the first 2 on PP and PK.
Sauve our AP broke in on the left side and rang one off the iron early in second.
While killing a penalty and very tired, Thompson blocked a shot from the point and raced for the puck on a shorted handed breakaway. Very tired from the PK he managed to maintain front position but was brought down by Clarington and awarded a penalty shot.
Thompson scored an absolute beautiful goal faking out the goalie and going bar down on the Penalty shot to take us to a 2-2 tie.
Clarington came back at the end of the 3rd to take a 3-2 lead going into the 3rd period. Start of the 3rd they scored a quick goal 10 seconds in to go up 4-3.
We managed to battle back to 4-3 with a nice hard drive to the net by Kuzenko and jam home the lose puck. With 2 minutes remaining and the goalie pulled we maintained pressure and had numerous opportunities but could not bury the puck. We ran into a hot goalie on the Clarington side as well. Clarington managed to fire the puck all the way down into the empty net for the last 2 goals.
