The Gens tournament run came to an unfortunate end on Sunday morning as they encountered a strong Kitchener team and some suspect reffing. An already short Gens bench was dealt serious blows on back-to-back major penalties, setting the Gens back two players, and putting them down two men for an extended period of time. After killing the first major, the Rangers struck just as the two man advantage expired to take the 1-0 lead they would carry to the intermission. The 3rd opened the same way, but the Gens penalty kill held strong and Andre Tremblay held the game at 1-0. Shortly after another Gens penalty expired, the Rangers notched an insurance marker, and eventually an empty netter to seal the game.
