The Gens put a stop to their 3 game losing streak with a solid 5-3 victory over the rival Clarington Toros.
After a strong showing against Kingston on Tuesday, the Gens carried that momentum into their first win of the season on Friday night.
P Couvillon lead the way with a hat trick, while J Beaveridge, N Lenix, M Hutchings, E Davis and P Kellett each had two point games.
The Gens opened the scoring after E Davis chipped a loose puck to J Beaveridge who sent a 100+ foot pass on to the tape of P Couvillon stick for a breakaway conversion. Couvillon tallied again on the power play, banging home a rebound from a N Lenix shot, with M Hutchings drawing the second assist. After the Toros pulled within one, M Hutchings tucked in a sneak attack goal on the short side from J Beaveridge and P Kellett.
The second saw the Toros fight back to tie it at 3 before the intermission, but the Gens came out strong in the 3rd with E Davis tucking in a rebound from N Lenix and P Kellett for the game winner early in the period. P Couvillon iced the game with his hat trick goal into an empty net late in the period.
N Hardy was outstanding in goal making 27 saves for the W.
