Sudbury Nickel Capitals 1 at Oshawa Generals 4
The Gens gave themselves a chance to advance with their best team effort of the season to date, beating the Caps 4-1.

T Turcotte lead the Gens to a solid 4-1 victory, making 24 saves for his first win as a General, as L Pye extended his point streak to 5 games with a goal in the 3rd.

The Gens jumped all over the Capitals early, scoring 3 first period goals.  P Couvillon opened the scoring, burying a centering pass from B Strzelczyk with L Tubiszewski also drawing an assist.  R Kowalenko gave the Gens a two goal lead, tallying on a quick feed from N Lenix in front, with P Kellett also assisting.  Lenix rounded out the first period scoring by tucking home a rebound from E Davis.

The second started with some early penalty trouble, but Turcotte closed the door as the Gens killed off an early one minute 24 second 5-on-3 to keep the score at 3-0 through 2 periods.

The 3rd saw Pye extend his point streak, zipping home a feed from Couvillon after a nice lead pass from M Bradica.  A brief lapse late spoiled the shutout for Turcotte, but the victory was never in doubt.
