On April 5th, the 2009 born AA group hit the ice in Oakville, with hopes of bringing home a red hat.After a dominant lakeshore playoff performance, the boys were looking to continue rolling against the best teams in the OMHA.
The round robin went to plan, and the gens finished 3-0 with wins over Barrie, St Catherines and Caledon.
In a tough semi-final, the gens faced their bitter rival and regular season leaders, Whitby Wildcats.
In a hard-fought battle, the boys pulled out a 4-3 victory sending them to the finals for a rematch with the Caledon Hawks.
The final was a nail biter the entire game, but the Gens were able to use their lethal power play to seal the deal, winning 3-1 and clinching the first U15AA OMHA Championship for Oshawa since 1967.
