Minor Midget AA - #91isafighter Night in Pictures
Submitted By Minor Midget AA Mgr on Sunday, October 07, 2018
On September 29, 2018 the Newton Trelawney Minor Midget AA Generals and Minor Midget Belleville Bulls took part in a wonderful night to honour #91 Owen Dimanno's continuing recovery from a stroke he suffered on April 12, 2018.

It was a night that transcended hockey, and saw 37 young gentlemen and over 150 crowd members celebrate an ongoing success story and welcome Owen Dimanno with a standing ovation as he walked to centre ice for the opening ceremonies.

Al Kerr, announcer for the Oshawa Riverkings, lent his amazing voice to the evening, as the Generals named Owen their Inspiration Captain for the 2018-19 season, and gave him his team jersey as he prepared to drop the ceremonial face-off between his best friend Liam Wells, and Bellevile representative Jayden Mason - who provided Owen with a very generous gift from the entire Belleville Bulls family.

After the face-off, the ceremony was topped off with an emotional performance of O Canada by local singing star Maureen McBride before the teams met at centre to shake hands and begin the hockey game.

The Dimanno family and our Minor Midget AA Generals family would like to thank everyone in attendance and those who were unable to attend yet offered their support privately.

We would also like to send a special and heartfelt thank you to the Belleville Bulls Minor Midget AA organization for their gift and for participating in this special evening.  It will never be forgetten.
