The Oshawa Generals Minor Midget AAA team has
been supporting Feed the Need Durham, which supports over 62 emergency food providers
across the Durham region.
September is Hunger Action Month, and in support of this, the team dedicated its first 3 home games of the season. Each game we held a food drive asking for a food donation or monetary donation to support the cause. In the end, it was a great success, and just in time to support food banks for a busy upcoming Thanksgiving. To go along with the large quantity of pastas, sauces, tuna, soups, canned veggies and fruits, cereals, peanut butter, etc, we received $300 in donations, which was used to purchase food items in highest demand.
The Minor Midget AAA Families would like to thank everyone who donated to support the cause. Special mention to our 3 opponents, whose families all supported: York Simcoe Express, Ajax Pickering Raiders and the Barrie Colts.
The Minor Midget team is off to a great start to the 2019-2020 season. After going 4-1-1 in the Toronto Titans Early Bird Tournament, and making it to the final 8 out of 53 teams, they are 3 -1-1 in their first 5 league games. Check out our schedule and come on out and watch some great hockey!!!
