Minor Bantam AE - Minor Bantam AE Gold Medal Winners!
Submitted By Minor Bantam AE Mgr on Tuesday, December 3, 2019
The Minor Bantam AE team participated in the Niagara Falls, USA Festival of Lights Tournament this past weekend.

The team building and the coaches plans all paid off this past weekend.  20 goals for, and 6 goals against.
The team started off their first game on Friday afternoon with a 10-0 win against The Southtowns Stars.
Friday evening they battled hard against Toms River, New Jersey. This team was made up of mostly Bantam players, the team took some big hits, and faced a few challenges.  The game ended With a final score of 3-1 for Toms River.
The team left with their heads held high.  Saturday the team was determined to win, in order to move ahead to the championship game on Sunday. They faced The Buffalo Stars, and won 6-2.

Off to the Championship game on Sunday, the team knew they were once again facing Toms River. The coaches have worked extremely hard this year to build a strong team on and off the ice. They have created plays, and practiced them over and over again.  The team pulled together, played their game, didn't back down and won the Gold medal 3-1!!!

Not only was Oshawa the Gold Medal Champions, they were called the best dressed team of the tournament. As the team manager I was beyond proud of this team. They represented not only Oshawa but Canada is such a positive light. The amount of compliments our team received from Arena staff, Tournament officials, referees, parents from the teams we faced, and even the hotel was so impressed with how well behaved and friendly our team was.

A huge thank you to the parents for being so encouraging and believing the coaching staff's vision for our team.

Congratulations Oshawa Minor Bantam AE on such a fantastic weekend. Your hard work and determination paid off!!!
