The Whelton Law Peewee AAA team traveled over the Christmas break to our nations capital to capture the tournament championship of the prestigious
Bell Capital Cup with a 3-1 victory over the Eastern Ontario Wild, played at home of the Ottawa Senators.
The boys had an excellent tournament with our defence and goalies allowing a meagre 1.0
goals-against-average. Combined with our offence producing a whopping 4.1 goals-for-average, our team came away with a perfect 5 and 0 record to capture the championship in style.
Along with an outstanding performance on the ice, the boys were very busy in Ottawa. They went to see the Senators play the Devils, participating in a relay race during the first intermission (our boys won that as well by at least a quarter lap) and provided a pregame interview to the local CTV station (link below). They also participated in an All-Star game and topped 2015 off with a New Year's Eve celebration with their families, friends and coaches at a dinner for the whole team in downtown Ottawa.
All in all it was an extremely successful way to end 2015 and begin 2016.
