The Oshawa Minor Atom A Generals captured their second tournament championship of the season with a 3-1 victory over the Leitrim Hawks in the finals of the 2015 Oshawa Hockeyfest Tournament.
The boys started out strong with a convincing 3-0 victory over Leitrim to start the tournament – Easton Rye had the shutout. We took a hard loss in the second game, losing 6-3 to the Osgoode-Rideau Romans. We came back in a tense third game, scoring 3 goals in the last 3 minutes of play to beat the Clarington Toros 6-4, securing 4th spot and a place in the playoffs.
Sunday was nail-biting time. Facing the rival Whitby White Wildcats in the semi-finals, the boys prevailed in OT 2-1 on a goal by Jake Shallow, before finishing it off with the win over Leitrim.
A big congratulations goes out to the boys for all their hard work and effort. The coaching staff is very proud of you!
