Oshawa Peewee A Minor Generals win Oshawa Hockeyfest Tournament
The Oshawa Peewee A Minor Generals captured their second tournament win of the season with a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over Whitby Wildcats White in the finals of the 2015 Oshawa Hockeyfest Tournament.
A determined Whitby squad overcame a 3-0 deficit to tie the game forcing it to overtime. Christian Lowe settled matters with a breakaway goal with 12.6 seconds remaining in the extra frame.
The host team once again used a stellar defence and outstanding goaltending to reach the finals with 4 shutouts along the way. They defeated Richmond Hill Stars 6-0, West Hill Golden Hawks 1-0 and tied Pickering Panthers 0-0 in round robin play before beating Ajax Knights 4-0 in the semi finals. Goalies Andre Tremblay and Cameron Johnston each had 2 shutouts during the tournament.
