Bantam AE goes undefeated and wins the 2015 Blue and Gold Tournament in Bradford!
On Oct 16-18, the Oshawa Bantam AE team visited Bradford to compete in the Bulldog's Blue and Gold Tournament.
The team went into the weekend with the confidence that they could win after having started the regular season 5-0.
In Oshawa's first game they faced a physical squad from Burlington. Oshawa used speed and skill to play a puck possession game and beat Burlington 6-1.
Next up, Oshawa faced a determined team from Erin Hillsburgh. The competitors got off to an early lead in the first. Oshawa stormed back to tie it up and eventually took control winning 5-1.
Oshawa finished off the round robin portion of the tournament with a focus towards defensive responsibility, posting a convincing shutout against the Innisfil Winterhawks.
In the finals, Oshawa faced the Ajax Knights, a local rival and competitor in the Lakeshore League. It was a hotly contested game that was fast paced and tied 1 -1 after two periods. Oshawa went ahead in the third and were determined to win. Despite pressure from a very good opponent, Oshawa won the game 2-1.
The victory was a total team effort. All players worked hard and contributed to the team's success. Oshawa's goaltender Dominyk Scala continued his solid play and remained undefeated en route to a well earned tournament victory.
