The Minor Atom AE team played 3 games in the Justin Williams Tournament. The first game was tentative but a decent effort versus the Peterborough Petes in which the score did not reflect the effort provided - score 5-0 for Peterborough.
In the afternoon, the Oshawa Minor Generals - Minor Atom AE team played the host Northumberland Nighthawks. The game was a battle with Oshawa falling behind, and being down 6-1 at one point, but clawing its way back each time to close to within 2 at 8-6. The goalie was pulled in favour of an extra attacker but an unfortunate bounce and a tough break widened the score to 10-6, which again was not indicative of the perseverance shown the by the Oshawa Minor Generals in this game. It was an intense game throughout.
The final game pitted Oshawa versus the Hamilton Huskies. Hamilton came out skating and kept skating throughout, using their speed to get out to a lead and they never looked back, winning 8-1. A tough finale to an otherwise solid outing. The team is continuing its development and look for more growth and positive results this season.
