J Bryan made 31 saves, C Martin scored twice, and C Davies, R Kieley and C Longhurst each recorded 2 points as the Gens took the lead in the series with a hard fought, physical 3-0 victory in Whitby on Wednesday night.
The Gens came out with a strong game plan and executed it very well, holding off the initial Whitby surge. After an exchange of penalties, C Martin opened the scoring on the power play to give the Gens a 1-0 lead after the 1st. The Gens continue to execute on special teams as C Davies tipped home a shot early in the 2nd to give the Gens a 2-0 lead at the intermission. C Martin tucked in a rebound midway through the 3rd for the insurance marker and the Gens held on for the 3-0 victory. M Booker added an assist in the victory.
