Oshawa Minor Hockey is offering a Tyke Development program for the 2018-19 season. We are inviting all 2011 born players to register for our Spring Skates (2012 born also permitted). Please read full News Article for more details. Link to register -

The program will follow the Hockey Canada and OHF guidelines and will be adapted to Oshawa Minor's specific needs with regard to enhanced skill development and appropriate practice:game ratio. The Oshawa MHA program will be under the direction of our Technical Director and have an experienced and dedicated Oshawa MHA Instructor for every session. Ice sessions will be 1 hour each and run 3 times a week on fixed days from September to March.
We have a limited number of players we can take (approx. 55) so we strongly encourage you to attend the Spring Skates.
Spring Skates *** these are not tryouts but rather an introduction to what you can expect for next season. Upon completion of the Sunday skate you will asked to complete the registration process and commit to the 2018-19 season.

Saturday April 21- Legends Centre Pad 1. Session 1 9:30-10:30am, Session 2 10:30-11:30am

Sunday April 22- Legends Centre Pad 3. Session 1 10:15-11:15am, Session 2 11:15-12:15am
NOTES:

As we approach April 21/22 we will assign each player 1 hour on Saturday and 1 hour on Sunday to attend. Saturday will be a skills session and Sunday will be cross-ice games. We will be in further contact with all players that register to let them know their on-ice time.

We are permitted to take a limited number of 2012 born players in the Tyke Development program.

Members of Oshawa MHA Executive will be available during this time period for you to drop in and ask any questions you have on the Program.

Have players on the ice for 1 hour, 3 times a week on set days. This will allow parents to plan around hockey commitments.

Run under the direction of our Technical Director and have a dedicated and highly experienced Oshawa MHA Instructor on the ice for every session. The Instructor will have a season plan and work with the Tyke coaches to deliver a skills based program.

Form 6 teams of approx. 9 players each. There will be no set positions with each player taking turns at Goalie (Oshawa MHA will provide goalie equipment).

Teams will be rostered as Select; which will allow us opportunity to offer some short distance travel with other Centres close to Oshawa where possible.

Participate in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) offered Jamborees throughout the season

Cost for the entire season (Sept to March) will be $600. Registration fee of $300 due on signing (April 22), and remaining amount paid in increments of $150 (due Sept 1 and Oct 1). This cost covers everything for your entire season (excluding player hockey equipment).

Each player will be provided Oshawa MHA jerseys/socks; team and Individual photo.
