Atom A Takes First Place In Niagara Showdown
Congratulations to the Oshawa Minor Generals Atom A team on a successful tournament weekend! Bringing home, the first-place trophy from the 47th Niagara Showdown in Niagara Falls NY on October 28th.   Meeting and defeating Detroit’s’ Belle Tire Hockey team in a thrilling tournament final.

The weekend started off with an early morning win against the Belle Tire in a 5-2 game.  Followed by an afternoon game against the Ajax Knights with an 8-0 win.

Heading into Saturday another early morning game gave a win against the Vaughan Rangers with a score of 8-1.

On Sunday in the semi final match the boys again played the Vaughan Rangers in an early morning game and came out with another win of 8-0.  Undefeated the boys headed into the Championship game against Belle Tire.  Both teams played a great game which resulted in a 2-2 tie when the third period ended.  It took 5 periods of overtime to come to a 3-2 victory for Oshawa!

It was a great and fun weekend for the players and families on and off the ice.  The coaching staff would like to acknowledge and thank all families and players for their dedication over the weekend. It was a great opportunity for these athletes as they continue to develop and show improvement in their game.

Let's go Generals!
