London Green & White Tourney Recap
It was a tuff and challenging tournament for our boys. Playing some of the top teams in the province. Schedule had them facing Richmond Hill, Scarborough Young Bruins, TNT Tornadoes, and finishing off against a very strong Vaughn Rangers.
Game 1 we came out of the gates flying. We were hustling all the way through and provided a 3-1 final result against the Richmond Hill Stars. Boys were fired up.
Game 2 the boys looked like they were stuck in quick sand. They never gave up and were doing their best to try and get out of it, but it was just not meant to be. We lost 4-0 to Scarborough Young Bruins.
After day 1 we were pleased to be sitting 1-1. Division was wide open still with a chance on Day 2.
Game 3 we were all over them in the 1st period getting out to a 1-0 lead. The refs on this day did not help us with some very questionable calls, after playing the 2nd period short handed and 7 consecutive penalties, we were behind 5-2. Boys tried their best in the 3rd but TNT tornadoes got a late goal to make it 6-2 and we were done.
Game 4 this was going to be a tuff one. Vaughn Rangers came out flying right out of the gate. 4 - 0 for them 6 minutes into the 1st period and they did not look back. Our boys did not quit and kept playing the game giving it everything they had. Unfortunately the speed, quick feet, quick passing and relentless forechecking of Vaughn was too much. 9-0 final.
All in all it was a great tournament, the boys played their hearts out and gave everything they had and no matter who the opponent was they never backed down.
