This holiday season, the U11A Oshawa Minor Generals gave back in a couple of really big ways!
First, the team adopted a family for the holiday season through the Durham Children's Aid Foundation, and the Holiday of Hope program. The team was able to fulfill a family's wishes for the holiday season, hopefully putting a smile on their faces, and warmth in their hearts - we know it sure felt good to be able to give back and to remind these boys to be mindful and grateful, always!
In addition, the team worked with the Durham Community Health Centre putting together Christmas Dinner hampers for over 2,500 families in need! This was an incredible opportunity, wherein the boys were able to give back, using their own two hands! They carried, carted, boxed, bagged and loaded tukey's and all the fixings, even delivering the hampers directly to those during pick-up times. They witnessed the community coming together for those in need, and worked as a part of a whole to accomplish this incredible task!
