Special teams stung the Gens on Friday night, eventually falling to the Colts 8-3
After a slow first few minutes, the Gens found their game, and C Peterson showed a nifty finish to open the scoring, with assists going to L Pye and L Tubiszewski. The Colts responded with the first of 3 power play goals on the night before M Hutchings put the Gens back on top with a power play goal of their own. E Davis and N Lenix drew assists. The Colts struck back on the power play and scored late to take a 3-2 lead to the 2nd.
In a very even 2nd period, N Hardy held the fort and the Gens had opportunity knock with a full 2 minute 5 on 3 midway through the period. Unfortunately, they could not cash in, and the Colts rode the momentum scoring twice before the end of the period to take a 5-2 lead to the break.
Any chance of momentum the Gens hoped to gain were stopped by an early power play goal from the Colts, and after Barrie scored twice more, Lenix finished the scoring by burying a sweet breakaway pass from E Lepage. E Blouin also added an assist.
N Hardy made 30 saves in the loss.
