A tough loss against Whitby Wildcats set the tone for a challenging weekend. Although the team was able to rebuild confidence with a 5-1 win against Peterborough, they were humbled with a 4-3 loss against Ajax-Pickering, proving there was more work to do as they headed into the semi-finals on Sunday morning. Coming in for recovery, they faced Whitby once again with some big scoring opportunities for a 7-3 winning ticket to the finals.
Again, all cards were on the table as Ajax and Oshawa were head-to-head, point after point, settling a 4-4 tie after overtime, into a five-round shootout that placed Oshawa ahead of the game for a 5-4 win!
Head Coach Bill Walker thanked the Ajax-Pickering Raiders Hockey Association for hosting the tournament, as each player was awarded with OMHA gold medals and red hats that represent a successful season and great memories for the team.
