The Gens had a huge first period, outshooting the Cobras 8-3 and taking a 2-0 lead into the break on goals by M Dearborn and B Lesperance.  After an ugly 2nd period that saw the Gens not only give up the lead but fall behind, the Gens rebounded to tie it early in the 3rd as T Boyle drew the game even.  The Cobras struck again taking a 4-3 lead, but C Martin tallied late in the game to draw the game even.  The Gens thought they had taken the lead a bit later, but a shot that passed between the keeper's legs was deemed to have hit the goalpost.

J Bryan made 15 saves to secure the tie, and leave the Gens in a tie for 2nd place after the first day of action. Read More

A Tremblay made 27 saves and C Martin tallied twice as the Gens upset the current #2 team in Ontario 2-0 on Friday afternoon.  After surviving an 11 shot onslaught in the 1st period, the Gens switched stratgeies, and started to take over the game, dominating in scoring chances (although not hitting the net with the shots!!) through both the second and third period.  Martin tallied early in the second to open the scoring and put the pressure on the Raiders, and then added the insurance marker early in the 3rd.  From there the Gens brought it home with strong defence and excellent penalty killing, taking care of all 5 short handed situations and limiting the Raiders to only 3 shots after going up 2-0.

The Gens fell victim to Clarington avenging an opening night loss on Wednesday night, as Clarington directed 41 shots at the Oshawa net en route to a 7-3 victory.  After N Gibson opened the scoring early in the first, the Gens - playing their 4th game in 5 nights - started to look tired, and Clarington capitalized with 4 straight goals.  C Davies tipped in a F Streef rebound to bring the game within one before the intermission.  After trading goals early in the 3rd, Clarington eventually pulled away, potting an empty netter and defeating the Gens 7-3.  J Bryan made 34 saves in the loss.
