The Gens hopes for a 2nd place finish took a major hit on Friday night, falling 5-2 to the rival Wildcats. The Wildcats took advantage of some sloppy Gens play early to jump out to a quick 2-0 lead before Bryce Dennis fired home a power play goal to give the Gens some momentum. However the Gens gave up a 3rd marker late in the frame to trail 3-1 after the first. Andre Tremblay made 7 of his 19 saves on the night before Oshawa could muster a shot in the 2nd period, and then Braydon Farrow potted a power play marker to bring the Gens back within one. However, later in the period, the Wildcats scored a controversial marker as Tremblay was run over by a Whitby player leading to a wide open net for a 4-2 deficit. An empty netter was added to finish the scoring.
